The County of Maui Office of Recovery will host its third Commercial Property Workshop on Sept. 30, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Morgado Hall at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.

The workshop will give commercial property owners, architects, engineers and business owners in Lahaina’s historic districts an opportunity to talk directly with County staff, ask questions and raise challenges they are encountering in the rebuilding process.

The workshop will also introduce the County’s proposed rebuilding “concierge” program, an initiative currently under development to provide more proactive, coordinated support to commercial property owners as they navigate permitting and reconstruction. The discussion will provide an opportunity for the County to hear directly from property owners about what is and is not working in the current permitting process.

“We want to continue creating opportunities for direct conversation with commercial property owners as they move through recovery,” County Deputy Managing Director Erin Wade said. “This workshop is about listening, answering questions and working through the issues that are coming up for property owners and their project teams.”

The September workshop builds on the County’s previous commercial property workshops, which have provided guidance on permitting, historic district requirements, cultural review, infrastructure and other aspects of commercial recovery.
