Streets and Mobility Plan
This Streets & Mobility Plan is designed to ensure that as Lahaina rebuilds, the unique and beloved nature and character of Lahaina’s streets also return, even as incremental improvements address challenges that existed before the fire.
This Plan serves as a guide to the community, landowners, businesses, the County, and other stakeholders to rebuild and strengthen Lahaina’s streets and transportation system. It will be implemented in the context of existing County regulations and functions, as well as those that have been developed since the fire, including, but not limited to, MCC 16.25.201, the 2018 Street Design Manual, Department of Public Works building permit review, Office of Recovery implementation strategy and the Capital Improvement Program. Many of the concepts and recommendations described in this plan will be implemented by individual County agencies in the years ahead through individual project efforts.
