Brief Description:

Construction of a two-lane roadway and appurtenances from Kenolio to Ka'ono'ulu. This is Phase 1 of the Liloa Drive Extension which will ultimately extend from vicinity of East Waipu‘ilani Road to vicinity of Ka‘ono‘ulu Street

November 2025: NEPA Environmental Assessment Complete

January 2026: FHWA issues Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI)

March 2026: Project Conditionally Awarded CDBG-DR Funds

April 2026: HUD Adopts FHWA Completed Environmental Review

May 2026: HUD Authorization to Use Grant Funds received

July 2026: Property Acquisition in Progress

Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan

The County of Maui Department of ʻŌiwi Resources is currently working with Group 70 International, Inc. (G70) to develop the Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan. The project scope includes hydrology and water policy; wildfire resiliency and risk planning; biological and ecological assessment; cultural landscape architecture; community engagement protocol; transportation circulation planning; topographical survey; cultural and archaeological studies; soils and geotechnical studies; and boundary mapping.
