Brief Description:

This project aims to address critical workforce shortages that hinder full post-fire recovery. This includes openings within the County departments that face challenges in recruiting and retaining engineers, planners, project managers, and other professionals essential to implementing County projects.

Obtained $300,000 in funding for education and healthcare initiatives.

Project team is currently seeking funding to support workforce training and paid work-based learning opportunities, including stipends that reduce financial barriers for recent college graduates and adults transitioning to new careers.

Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan

The County of Maui Department of ʻŌiwi Resources is currently working with Group 70 International, Inc. (G70) to develop the Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan. The project scope includes hydrology and water policy; wildfire resiliency and risk planning; biological and ecological assessment; cultural landscape architecture; community engagement protocol; transportation circulation planning; topographical survey; cultural and archaeological studies; soils and geotechnical studies; and boundary mapping.
