Brief Description:

Replacement of two wastewater pump stations severely damaged by the disaster and evaluation of alternatives for potential relocation of Pump Station 5 to accommodate community planning initiatives.

May 2025: FEMA PA Funding Initial Approval

July 2025: Lahaina Royal Complex planning started, which will contribute to determination of potential relocation of Pump Station 5.

November 2025: Design Started

March 2026: Project Conditionally Awarded CDBG-DR Funds

July 2026: County of Maui selects alternative to relocate Pump Station 5 offsite from Moku'ula

Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan

The County of Maui Department of ʻŌiwi Resources is currently working with Group 70 International, Inc. (G70) to develop the Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan. The project scope includes hydrology and water policy; wildfire resiliency and risk planning; biological and ecological assessment; cultural landscape architecture; community engagement protocol; transportation circulation planning; topographical survey; cultural and archaeological studies; soils and geotechnical studies; and boundary mapping.
